Took a while to get to sleep last night and woke up at 8.00 am a bit raggedy. However, I think the body clocks going to be pretty right going forwards now – doesn’t take long to shake the cobwebs out and I reckon I got away with the jet lag well.

A maintenance and admin morning coming up I think. Some washing, a few e-mails and belatedly updating the blog. I’ve never done one before and am enjoying it.

WordPress offers templates for do it yourself websites and blogs. There were a couple of recommended options out there, with WordPress being slightly more expensive and considered a little more complex, but offering a lot more functionality. Not being a blogger or outrageously savvy in online ways, because I’m a Pidcock, I chose (of course) the harder option. Having said that, it’s been pretty straightforward and not that difficult (although I can’t find my Dashboard at the moment). There are a few frustrations at times – for example, it seems people need to have a WordPress username and login to be able to ‘like’ a post. They can ‘comment’ without one, but can’t like one. This wasn’t mentioned in the sales pitch! Lots of help from Sophie who’s taken to it like a 22 year old would. Thanks Bear! I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turned out though – it should be a good way to keep in touch and a nice record of the experience.

Í walked up to the local junction, which is actually known as Little Saigon and is full of Vietnamese and Southern Indian restaurants. Had a really good chicken and mixed vegetable dosa for lunch. It was hot and spicy. A great feed and only cost $10 – score.

It was then time to grab a taxi and head to the airport to pick up the Kato. Didn’t have any real direction, an idea of how to address the formalities or where to actually go. I’ll just turn up at ‘customs’, present a copy of the waybill and ……….. I guess I’ll find out!
